I have created a new kind of USB Flash Drive that comes in plush animal designs, called dataBabies. Currently I make everything myself, but I would really like to have the entire product replicated and outsourced for quicker, cheaper, and more professional production. I have found a supplier in China who would be able to manufacture the product, but I have a few questions before I go ahead and order a few thousand dataBabies.

The product is currently sold only online and a few small gift shops, but upon outsourcing I think it would be wise to have the product and packaging retail ready. However, I am having difficulties finding out packaging requirements for retailers. What must I consider with the packaging? Is there anything specific to keep in mind with the product as well?

The first order will take a large investment of my own money, and I want to be sure that I am doing it right the first time. If anyone has any thoughts or feedback to help guide me through this process, it would be greatly appreciated.
