as far as I know, it was just a term made up so people could feel bad about them selves and buy more motivtional books.

it just collectively refers to interest, dividends and royalties.

Sure, I've got ideas; more than that - I've got traction.

Would you like me to pitch you?

OK...between 2005-2006, websites like Amazon and Ebay, lost over $10billion in advertising spending, because their websites failed to convert prospects into customers.

Statolicious is on track for making $100million because it solves this customer conversion problem for websites in the Alexa 10,000 index. Statolicious is a qualitative website analytics package which provides webmasters with information about their sites not available through complementary products like Google Analytics.

It provides information like "These are the top reasons why I did not buy your books", which is essential intelligence for anyone looking to maximise the return on their investment in online marketing.

I am looking for people who'd like to know more about this venture and who would like to help us complete alpha testing.

    how did I go?

If you can answer those types of questions it has real potential. May I ask how you get the answers? I would imagine it would need to be survey based?

    yep, it's survey driven.

the technology collects qualitative data (via surveys), transforms it into quantitative data (a report) and gives suggestions for how to improve the qualitative results (by comparing one site to another).

The crown jewel is the development of the QualiRank index. It's a score (out of 10) which ranks the site in terms of usability. The main difference between QualiRank and Google's PageRank is that where the PageRank is determined by machines, QualiRank is determined by humans...we think this is better, because humans are better judges of quality than computers.

At any rate, all I am focusing on is the development of the first leg of the technology (collection of qualitative data). I've got over 50 people who already are eager to pay for and use this product, and I need people to help me make it. Leave us a note at http://analytics.hotblog.com.au/Guestbook if you have any words of advice.

    Much appreciate it.

    ;-)

akula, here's an idea to turn it from a $100Million venture into a $100Billion one...

I'm sure I've mentioned it before, but the future of the search engine industry is displaying results based on peer recommendation. Digg.com is doing it right now with tech news. In a few years they will be able to utilise that data in numerous ways including starting a search engine which displays results based on what users or their peers are into (mainly tech, but they're branching out).

As clearly, a search result which has been recommended or used by a peer is much more appealing than a result spat out by a machine.

    See the concept?

You said that statolicious will be based on human quality assessment of a website... do the same thing, but package the technology and data in the form of a search engine as well. You could either use the similar technology for statolicious and make separate ventures linked under the same umbrella. Or you could embed statolicious into a peer-focused search engine.

Another direction in online search which I know Microsoft is trying to achieve are single results. That is, you search for something and are returned (if possible) a single result, rather than pages and pages of possible matches.

Combine the single or 3-website result with the peer-recommendation system and Yahoo, Google and MSN combined won't be able to defeat you

... don't forget about me when you're at the top

    cheers

    Thanks boss.

By default, I assume that what you say is a good idea, so I don't need to read what you have written.

Prove that you have a good idea by convincing another person to tell me that what you have is a good idea.

    lol ok

After posting that I had a PM from a person on the forums who said he was actually working on a similar thing (sort of).

I haven't got the time or resources to pursue this idea atm. Plus having the big three guys (Google, Microsoft, Yahoo) in direct competition makes it risky enough to focus on other big ventures which are easier to setup, easier to fund and have more chance to succeed.

Give me an expert team of 100s and unlimited finances (well at least in the mutli-millions), and the idea will have a much greater chance of becoming big.

Though I might think about getting into it sometime early next year

    cheers
