    Lightbulb New invention and innovation

    Hey everybody,

I have an idea for a new product that builds on and improves an old one. Unfortunetly, i can't say what it is if ya'll can respect that. But i was wondering how to take off with this idea. First thing i would imagine is to get a patent and check if there is similar ideas out there already, correct? The thing is i don't know where to go for all that and the procedures involved. Also what next business plan, prototypes.... what? The other dilema is, i have little to no funds, but i heard there is another way to go about it where you take it to venture capital firms and they provide the money or something along those lines. So if somebody could please clear these questions up for me and tell me how to go about this. Oh, and I am in Toronto, Canada so rules may be different from the States so if anybody has experience within Canada or similar.

    Thanks

As far as funds go, you can always take out a loan, or go to www.prosper.com Im sure you can google patents and find the core website, and ask them if the idea has already been patented. Im sorry I cant provide more info, but thats all I can come up with.

I don't know why Do3r17's so nice to you. No, I can't respect this counter-productive secrecy.

It's impossible to give you meaningful advice because you are not a legitimate founder.

Unless you can give me an indication that you're a somebody, doing something and doing it well - there is no chance in hell I am gonna bother answering your question.

For now, I don't have any evidence to the contrary of you being a punk kid with your head in the clouds.

Give me an indication for why I should bother with you. What are you working on? Different kinds of deals attract different kinds of answers to your questions. If you can't be specific, all you'll get out of me is generic bullshit.

Think you're a wiseguy? Stop being a chickenshit and let's talk business.

You can find websites (cant recall them now) where you can search existing patents to see If your idea is already patented. Try looking on google for a patent database.
