New Clothing Line

My buddy and i want to start up a new clothing line. We have a solid name and clothing style. We just dont know what the second step would be. a copyright? start printing shirts? anything else that is as far as paper work. Any help on the subject would really help. Thanks

I had a clothing "Punkstar Clothing" for a while, why I didn't keep it going is beyond me. But I sure as heck learned a lot. I also have some sales over seas.

Your next step should be to get a resale license - this way you can get blank shirts a whole sale cost (about 2.15 for 6.1oz shirts). Then find a printer that will print on the shirts you brought in.

You should not be paying more than 4.00 -5.00 for the finished product. It will be cheaper than that if you increase your quantity.

Sell a few shirts to friends to get some cash flow, offer so give some to local kids in the area if they will sport the shirts around and promote your like. You might also hit up local clothing stores and see if they do consignment.

Sponsor a few local kids (skaters, surfers) I sponsored local skaters and bands.

I had the bands put up a banner while they performed.

Start thinking and noting down ideas for your website too. Write down any ideas that come to you. ALL OF THEM.

You don't have to use them all, but you will surly have a nice list of ideas a few weeks down the road. Its better that forgetting them.

should i get a copyright on the name or even a trademark? so i can protect thee name if i do end up getting big??

you'll be waiting atleast a year for a trademark... but you can apply and it should protect your brand... not that important though... sell first

i just want to know that the name i have is going to be protected with a copyright or something.. should i be worried about someone stealing the name?
