First you must learn to articulate your thoughts correctly or you will never be given the time of day.
Impossibilities are possible. Come to a brick wall and transcend the process of going around, over or through. Just be on the other side.

It's called forecasting and it is not easy. You need to estimate your income and your expenses and you need to have a detailed breakdown of how you came up with your numbers. The best thing you can do is to figure out what you 'think' will happen and then increase your expenses by 25% and decrease your income by 25%. This will give a healthy margin of error.

Again this is not easy and it is far from a science.

You need to draw up a business plan, stating your business model, budget estimation, estimated breakeven time, estimated ROI, target markets, market research, risk assessment and whatever prototypes you have.

Afterall, its about SELLING your idea to the investors. Think in the shoes of the investor, what are the factors that would prompt him to invest in your business and not thousands of others?

    Brainstorming.
This is the first thing you must do so that you'll able to organize your thoughts before starting to plan something.

You have bigger problems than contacting investors. Spelling, grammar, and clearly articulated thoughts would be a start. Otherwise you are just wasting everyone's time, including any investors you seek.
