Need feed back on start-up idea

Hello Guy's,

I need feedback of you people for an idea that excites me.

Have you ever been in a situation where you were bored with class lecture and come back to hostel and want to release your frustration but cant do face by face but dint had any medium to do so?

Have you ever been in a situation where you want to propose your girl friend but afraid to say face by face and dint had any other medium to do so?

Have you ever been in a situation where u have some naughty thoughts in your minds and were unable to do so because u dint had any appropriate medium to do so?

Have you ever been in a situation where you want immediate feed back to your reaction a on certain situation but dint had any medium to do so?

Have you ever been to situation where you want to show your marriage photographs to your friends and relatives but dint had any medium to do so?

I wish to talk about something like a messaging solution which sends emotions or reaction to a particular situation which u feel cant be done in reality but want to be done through Internet in the form of visual media.

Suppose i have a community of people added in some messenger i can send a Punch (name of this visual media) to anyone who is in my list, a Punch is more than an animated greeting card,its a collection of images and text that is rapped within a skin(theme) by the user himself. when i compose a punch i m provided with an editor, where i can choose my skin, drag and place some images onto it and add some text here and there, this will be few seconds task and i send this punch to u and if u r online it simply opens like a splash on your desktop and disappears in few seconds.

an example may clear my thoughts -

suppose i m frustrated with my manager who is added is my punch friends list. i compose him a punch as follows-

I choose a theme of boxing glove in punch editor, i add an image of my manager and write text on it "u suck" and send this punch to my manager now when my manager gets an option to launch this punch, a boxing glove zooms out on his desktop, it animates as if its giving a shot to desktop(zoom out , zoom in) and this boxing glove has the image and text u wrote "u suck" on it all the time. this punch finishes its animation in say 10-15 seconds.

another example may be sending good morning punch to someone (with a theme of rising sun) or proposing your girl friend by sending a heart themed punch.

another example may be sending your marriage album to your friends and relatives with details abuot each and evry photo, select our Album theme
and put all your photo's and with the details and comments on each every photo and in just a single click you marriage album ready, send it to your friends and relatives with punch messenger.

Here themes are provided by punch editor and u simply select a theme according to your situation and put your own text and images on it to depict your appropriate flavour of emotion.

Here messenger is not any existing messenger but punch will provide its own messenger and a community has to be formed.

so guys give me your frank feedback that how much sense this idea makes.

hmm, I think the idea is sort of on the track which society seems to be going... i.e. less face-to-face communication and interaction.

But I think if anyone on your "list" could send a whole range of stupid punches and other animations that take up your entire screen, then people would easily be put off by this.

MSN Messenger and a few other IM appz are sort of taking this approach with the ability to display large animations over the other person's screen. Although I hate it and I think messenger will suffer as a result and probably end up with only people under 12 using their program.

IM is very delicate. Video chat should naturally be the next progression for communication, but I don't think it will take off that much. Simply because people like the ability of being able to hide behind text or voice without having to show themselves on the net on (e.g) a bad-hair-day.

If IM is your direction, keep it simple and mash together a few existing ideas to make the whole communication experience easier and more effective.

Absolutely crap idea in my honest opinion. It is just a glorified feature that msn messenger already has...but lacking the rest of what msn msg has. The idea of a 'punch friends list' would mean you would need to say to your manager 'Hey can I add you to my punch list...its an application that allows me to direct abuse at you remotely?'

'Yeh sure...why not?'

I don't really see it happening...infact I get pretty annoyed when people start sending me those damn animations over and over again on msn msg...so an application centred around such an idea would be even worse!

Anyway just my 2.
