    Marketing Business Cards

Hey guy's, my company is a very simple one, I design and print business cards. I heard from a japanese friend of mine that all the teens in japan have there own business card.
My question is do young people have business cards from where you're from?
Also how do I get my name in front of those people so that I can design their card for them?
And if I did figure out a way to market in those areas like japan, how do I design there card when I can't read or speak the language?

Hey David, I like your idea. If you can give me your rates on how much you charge for your printing services, then I may be able to slide some business your way. I understand you do the design side too, but I have a few connects that like to design their own cards, however, they don't have the super high quality printers to print professional business cards. Do you have you have this capability? And what is your costs. Feel free to PM me on this one. thanks.

read the whole thing, I have a valid point, then let me know what you think

    thanks for the suggestion,
What do you think about when someone hands you a business card? vista print is a great source for cheap printing but my company is about design and image not about putting a bunch of templates up for a customer to look at. I design cards over and above anything I could make simple templates for (I don't mean to sound like I'm to good for templates but thats just not the way I want the company to go).
You see I have a great quality product, my wife graduated with a BA in advertising design in graphics and my family has been in the printing business for over 75 years (I'm a third generation printer).
My family (not me personaly) have huge accounts with Gyro, BBDO, and a couple other really big advertising companies which is really cool because my wife happenes to work for BBDO.
She just wrote a really cool ad for the dodge caliper that will be published in Germany soon (keep your eye's open for it, it's the one with the dodge caliper entering a body building contest, it's a print ad not a commercial).
My main issue is I'm having a hard time finding a customer that could use a business card that will blow the socks off of any other business card. People are just not wanting something new and inovative, they want something boring and cheap.
When people buy a cheap card at bulk all they are doing is letting everyone else know there company buys cheap products (not the best message to be sending). Think about it for a sec. what do you think about when someone hands you a business card? Is there anything you would do diffrent with your card? If the answer is yes get it done as soon as possible, start handing out the message you want your customers to get.
Thats my problem with vista print, they're not doing any favors for anyone by offering a business card, everything else they do is great, I get my flyers done with them, but never a business card.
I just can't wait until my web site is done so the world can see what I'm talking about. It's coming very soon maybe even by tonight!! it's DavidMalseed.com, bookmark it because it's going to be a huge help for your company and it's going to have a great way for your business card to earn some extra cash over and over again.
If you made it all the way to this point it means you read my whole rant. Thanks for sticking it out and reading it and thanks again for the suggestion.

    not sure either

apparently it's the cool thing for teens and young adults to do in Japan. To have your information written out on a business card so that you can hand it out to your friends.

    I don't question, I just print

    Hi David,
Checked out your site and it's not ready yet I guess.
If you don't mine me suggesting few things?
You are running a bussiness card website but you are using your name as the domain. It's okay, I'm not saying anything bad against this but you want to brand business correct? you want people to remember your website? website address? People have tough time remembering persons' name unless they have heard the name or used their name more than once.
I'm just suggesting that you create multiple domain names... and point all them to your davidmalseed.com <-- you can do this easy.. if thats where you main site will be located.
For example: create domain names like cheapbusinesscards.com, swankycards.com neverforgetcards.com hereismycard.com and redirect all these incoming traffic/visitors to your main site. These names are easy to remember and easy to market.. I doubt those domain names are available but I'm only suggesting. Just about every bigger companies use this strategy to entice people to remember their site easier.

Secondly.. you can give people special deals! i mean extremely special deals by offering them 50 - 75% off for bulk orders or frequent buyers. Why? so obvious? no.. but the catch is.. back of those business cards have your business information/rate of your business cards/contact info etc.. this way you are practically giving it away but you are also advertising your business to people who receives those business cards. this would be nice deal for 1st time buyers or frequent buyers..

third... i just lost my train of thoughts.. i had it but lost it for some minute.. i'll follow up with additional post if it comes back to me.

    best luck with your business.
