    LLC startup

Hey, my wife and I are just getting into the idea of starting a small internet based retail business from our home. We are located in California and we will be personally funding the startup expenses so no loans will be needed. We would like it to be an LLC as we have heard that it is the best way to go. Anyways, is there a checklist of priorities in order to start one?? So far here is what I have.

    Check for name availibility
    Name reservation
register with local chamber of commerce
    file for fictitious business name
    get a retail license
    business license
??? not sure if this is even right or what to do first any help would be great appreciated.

the best bet would be contact a lawyer or accountant who can handle the whole thing for you. spend the $1000 or less and get it taken care of professionally and properly.

Forming an LLC is easy. Do it correctly is much harder. I form LLC's (and other domestic and offshore entities) for clients from around the world and many times I have to correct errors in entity formation from the DIY'ers. There are many details to consider when starting a new business and having proper assistance will save you time and money over the long term.
