    Licensing/Legal Problems...Cant find an answer ?

    HI,

For over 3 months now,i have worked on my business plan and tried to solve the legal issues, but i keep running against the wall....

Im starting a videogame rental service in Europe(ill keep the region secret for now ,and as ive found out,it is HELL,trying to sort out whats the story with licensing,or even do i need one.Ive talked to several companies in other regions,to their CEO"s etc,and for example in South America, there is no license or permission needed,in the other hand in North America, there are extremely tough rules and you must have everything legal straight. And in Europe...it seems to be in somewhere between...Ive contacted with the manufactures like Ubisoft,Vivendi games etc,and they just dont know anything about the service(as they claim),and cant give me any answers or directions what should i do to create this service in my selected region.Ive even contacted with the distributers in this region and they said that they would want to do business with me,if i get the permission(from somewhere?).

So my point is that,it works in the U.K,it works in Sweden,it works in Slovenia(for crying out loud , where should i turn to inorder to figure this out.Ive even contacted the local foreign ministry, but they havent gotten back to me.Since im a college student i dont have the kind of budget to hire laywers, which i would do immeditely otherwise.

Any suggestions what should i do,because this service is quite new in Europe and some regions have some serious market for it,i need to solve it quickly. The other thing is that ive found couple of investors that im in talks with and i basically have no problem of launching it,but i cant before all legal is clear and safe.....(also had a problem with fake investors, about a month ago)

    Thanks in addvance!

Have you tried contacting various movie rental companies in your area to see how they work out the licensing issues? I don't know for sure but I imagine that the two markets (movie and gaming) are fairly similar with regard to licensing. Just a thought. Good luck.
