Smile Kiosk ideas in outdoor entertainment mall?!?!

If you were able to rent at Kiosk in a shopping center which mainly caters to "40 somethings" in a slowly tranforming from downtown urban to condo mecca in a waterfront city what would you go for?

-the kiosk is "free" with rent and only needs signage and some "decorations"

    -rent is only $535

-ideally low inventory as you only have a 5ft by 2ft. kiosk and perishbles wouldn't be the best bet...

-also capital funding for starting up would preferably kept around 10k., more or less.

-something tourist related wouldn't be too bad, but rather something less seasonally based...

all suggestions and thoughts would be great.

Hmmmm... not being over 40 and not knowing the market too well, I must say that I can't think of anything right now. However, there was a YEer who had set up a kiosk selling sunglasses I think. If you search the forums you might be able to find a thread relating to him.

Hey Gberg, seems like a pretty good opportunity.

Depending on what you want to do I guess you could sell subscriptions (such as phone or cable). Just thinking off the top of my head.

A tip would be to visit similar shopping centres and getting ideas. Maybe even cheap socks will be the trick? Who knows - but I see people doing it. Don't know how successful they are, but stocking the store isn't expensive.

Tim, Your Post Makes my Brain Hurt As Everything Is Capitalized. But I Might Send You A Line If I Am Interested.

newtown, don't think socks would be approved by the mall management as it is trying to be "upscaleish," but subscriptions would be an interesting venture to persue.

ProfDark, great read about poker chips and the dealings with asian businessmen...i hate to fault walmart/costco for his downfall, he may have tried to offer incentives. like buy his poker set and get a raffel for free buy-in to a poker tournament or something....hmm....

    PLEASE KEEP THE IDEAS COMMING!!

    An incredible product

Has anyone ever seen the Infinite Dress (www.InfiniteDress.com)? Do you think it would make a good product in a shopping mall? It seems like a terrfic product.
