Just starting out and need some encouragement

Hello, me and my husband just started our online business and it is taking off very slow. Any suggestions on advertising? We just can't seem to pull the traffic in. We've submitted to many search engines and have been trying several forums, yahoo got us lots of traffic but only for a day with no sales. Help!

To start, why don't you provide us with a link to your website.

Alright, first, try trying submitting it to some online directories. With luck, they'll link to your site, and you'll start seeing some results. Google likes to see incoming links to a site.
You can find a few by going to the search right here:("php link directory" OR phplinkdirectory OR phpld) free directory - Google Search
But first, add some content to your homepage saying what it is you do, and what you sell.
    Then kill the guestbook.
Then have more targeted items in your store, around one base category.
then you're off to a start at least.
directory links aren't the best, but they'll help a little.
Remember when picking your "title" for those,(and for your store's pages) that whatever you set it as is what you're most likely to start ranking for.

What kind of business do you have? Are you familiar with web 2.0 marketing? This is HUGE and very effective. Personal branding via You Tube videos, Social networking with My Space. Craigs List has world wide appeal and get's billions of page views every month. These are just a few and their free.

Are you working with an advertising budget?

Unfortunately many people desire to plant their corn in the morning and have popcorn in the evening. Success is a process. Do you have a support structure within your organization that has marketing strategies?
