    Internet Marketing

    Hi everyone,

What is a cost-effective way to move traffic to my website? Is advertising on Google or Yahoo effective? What products are most marketable on the net? Could anyone tell me more?

The most effective to get traffic to your site is find the niche you site is in and get to know the people and let them know that your site is open for business. What can happen from this is that you can possibly get the chance to market hundreds of people in that niche using a few people who have already found the customers

When I visit some websites, it gets linked one to another. How then could you ever captivate your audience. What I mean is that you may have traffic, but are the people staying at your page?

Well, it really depends on what you're trying to sell.

For example, for some of my clients I try to drive a lot of volume to their site, in order to filp sales at very low cost per visitor and conversion rates, so the idea is to get as much volume as possible once you reach the point that your website is converting clicks at a profitable rate.

Other clients that I have, as well as for myself, the idea is to focus a small amount of highly targeted traffic, and to convert a very high number of those into sales. There are a number of ways to obtain this traffic. You may need to pay more for this traffic by advertising for higher competition keywords, or you may actually save money be creating a niche focus. Also, look outside the box. There are alot of ways that you can use offline advertising to drive online advertising: think membership associations, a hardcore networking campaign, or targeted mailings, could do a lot.

The trick is to figure out what the best way to sell your product.

Is your product the type of product you could hold up in public and say 'for sale', and if the price was right, someone , maybe more someones than a few, would buy (some type of consumer item, or even a community site like myspace, digg, etc.), or are you selling something that a small percentage of the population will be extremely interested in, such as unique content, a specialty service, or something that most of the public can't afford?

That being said, I'll need more information before I could give you any specific advice on how to make more money. That's like walking into a restaurant, the waiter walks up and says asks for your order, and you say, "I'm hungry. Can you get me some food that I would like?"

    Good luck!
