    Intellectual Property Resources

Lately there seems to be a lot of copyright questions on this forum, so I thought I would give a couple quick resources. If you have basic questions on the subject of copyrights, the US Copyright Office has a very informative website:
    U.S. Copyright Office
A quick read of the "copyright basics" section is a great introduction to copyrights and should answer most basic questions.

If you have a question regarding patents or trademarks the United States Patent and Trademark Office also has a very good website where most basic questions can be answered.

    This site also address copyrights.

I hope these websites prove useful. They are a huge resource even to practicing lawyers and are written in plain English, not legalese.
    Enjoy

Besides protecting your work, registering your copyright makes it easier for a potential infringer to track you down and legitimately obtain a license to use your work, avoiding the hassle of litigation.
