    I need some expert advice...?

I have thought of an innovative idea for a business, but it is a slight variation on a business that is already in operation.

    1. Am I still allowed to proceed with my idea, even though it copies the current business principles, but with a slight twist?

    2. Am I likely to face any legal challenge from the current business to stop me from proceeding?

If YES to any of these questions, what should I do?

And more of a general question really, but...

    3. How can I attract other people to become interested in my idea?

Any advice would be greatfully appreciated.

If you wish to know more about my idea, please feel free to PM me or send me an e-mail: jonathan_mark_davies@hotmail.com

it's times like these I wish people had signatures

Jonathan, it's difficult to attract quality assistance if you don't have a profile.

    Hmmmm.

Legally unless you signed a non disclosure agreement , not really. Morally you need to ask yourself what you are truly taking.

the fact is this, unless you take tangible assets such as his customers it really isn't worth his time to go after you.

Getting other people interested in your business. Bud, that is the million dollar question. We all try to do that. I would start with the basics such as a business plan, and most importantly be conservative. You need to abide by the plan as much as you need to sell it.

Keep networking. That is the best way.

NDA's are the way to go. I come up with damn good business ideas...and I don't want some random person to steal my idea. It's happened to me once before...and I'll never let it happen again.

A NDA is only worth something if you have a large amount of money to protect it.
