    Lightbulb Allo.

Hey there. We get alot of designers on this forum...I also am a fresh designer and have been constructing my designs for the past year and a bit. Many people have different approaches when entering into the fashion industry..Do you plan on making your own pieces or just handling the design aspect? If you are planning on constructing all your own pieces I suggest taking a design course...Can be taken at your local design academy..usually around ten grand...They will teach you all aspects of pattern making and clothing construction...Trust me when I say this will cut your learning curve in half...But I do not know your experience level so please let me know what stage you are at so I can be more helpful...I have been making one of each of my designs and getting them duplicated in various sizes and colours...this is less time consuming and depending on your source for construction can be much cheaper...let me know if you have any specific questions...when I first got started I found it quite expensive to get all the materials and the TIME to be creative..I took upon a home biz to allow me more time to work on my project...Emerald Passport is a great opportunity if you are seeking a better income..take a look. I am also a young entrepreneur and had no previous experience in the direct sales industry..All I do is send a couple emails and do a bit of advertising and I have secured my financial future...Take a look in my signature file for the link....Have a prosperous day.Lets talk again soon.

    Help Me Too!

    Hi Stacey,

You sound like you know what you're doing, so here's my few questions.
Myself and a friend are looking to start a clothing line, but aimed at Lingerie: I wont go into the details of why our market is niche, but suffice to say we have ideas that we think will sell. Where do we go from here?
1Do we learn to pattern cut and make prototypes?
2Or do we send them to get made somewhere first (and where?)
-- do we design and have a pattern cutter and then a constructor, or how does itall work
3 from prototypes how do we get mass production?
4 from mass production how do we get them sold either in our own shop or stocked??
    5. what kind of funds do we need.. we have no idea since I'm a law student and she's a medic!

    Would appreciate any ideas,
    email: victoria_ronco@hotmail.com

    Thanks!
