I'm not an expert on here but I'll tell you that if you want to make money, it should be something you like doing. If you have a lot of sports stuff that you WANT to sell, start an ebay account and sell it.

Or maybe start some online community for sports enthusiasts to share their stories.

brett, I have 2 ideas for you.

1 - You can teach younger kids how to play these sports to keep fit. If you have a football for example, you can get kids in your neighbourhood to meet for about an hour after school and teach them how to play. Their parents pay you, and you can teach them with your equipment. Parents would rather pay a coach than a babysitter!

2 - Rent out your sports equipment!

    All the best.

I like zharlene's first idea, my little brother takes drum lessons from a kid who is maybe 14-16, my parent's are more than willing to pay him for these, its most likely much cheaper than a professional.

Use your age to create business. My little brothers Used to go door to door asking if they could wash the neighbors car. They were 8 and 10, how could someone say no to that? Old people love to pay kids for odd jobs.

Brett, maybe you can try selling these things on collector communities. Here's an auction site for collectors that allow you to use Moneybookers (paypal alternative & you don't need a credit card). Delcampe Auctions - buy & sell collectibles, postcards, coins, rare stamps, paper money, old paper, antiques & more

Please remember to appraise these old/vintage items, so you'll get an idea how much anyone should pay for the items.

Once, this guy said that he saw a shoebox of old postcards at a garage sale and sold them on eBay. He was looking for about $15 for the whole thing. Someone bought it, then resold it for hundreds of dollars (about $400 - $500, can't remember).

For collectors, the old stuff cost more than the new ones in most cases.

i don't know what you mean by "quick money". i mean, yea, i want to be richer this summer too (as do we all) but all i that have for now is ideas for businesses that i'm researching. i mean if you want to open a business like you say, it's gonna take a bit of time and effort. if you want to sell sports stuff for quick cash then go right ahead. i just don't know what you're looking for.

Oh and by "online community" i just meant a website like myspace where people join and share parts of their lives. if you wanted to and you had the time and motivation and ideas, you could start an online sports community. on it people would have a profile, share their stories, rate/comment on other peoples stories, and maybe win prizes for having the best stories. you'd have to find a web designer...and it would all be quite a challenge for you to get together. but you could do it.

If his parents wont let him use paypal, I doubt there going to let him use money bookers.

and brett, my advice to you is to tell all your friends your buying old sports equiptment, pass out flyers, post them in local supermarkets. Then take everything you have and rent tables at all your local flea markets, most of them dont require a TAX ID. Thats your best bet, good luck kiddo.

Yeah, but maybe his parents won't let him use Paypal because it would risk his parents' money, esp. since you need a verified account to be able to sell stuff on eBay...and you can only verify your account with a credit card.

Moneybookers is not like that, you don't need a credit card so any money he makes online can be stored in there. His parents don't even have to know he's got an account there. When he earns enough, he can prove to his parents that he knows how to earn money online.

Thats not true, when I first started out illegally selling lacoste polos on ebay when I was 14 ( I had no idea I was commiting such a crime, I assumed they were real when i first bought into that at 13 years old I didnt mean any harm) well anyways, my dad made a seperate branch off his bank account. Which was mine, I had no credit card, still dont on that account. So I think what you mean is he needs a bank account to verify?

and on the moneybookers your right im sorry, I thought you needed a credit card.
