How tO prospect efficiently and effectively?

Basically I would like to know what has worked for you or if they have any unusual tactics that have been effective. Please feel free to share any past experiences that have been successful. Cold calling is something that has worked for me but I'm really trying to branch out and try new things.

Not sure what your business is but if it's a local sales job (real estate, account rep, etc) I've found that simply getting out and about can be a huge help. Get out of the office. Pick 2 lunch spots that are "off the beaten path" and go there for lunch 4-5 days a week. Go to outdoor shows and concerts, wine tastings, join a club or two (car club, bridge club, chess club, rotary club, whatever). I get 10x more quality leads from people I know, and have met this way, than through any other method. Hope that helps. Good luck!
