Unhappy How to convert more visitors into customers

Ok here is my site the-best-hot-sauce.com. I average around 100 visitors per day, but cannot convert many of them into customers. I tryed to give away free items each month just for making any purchase. I also offered to have free shipping if your order is over $70.00 or more. I also have a maling list to join and you would also be entered into the monthly giveaway contest. I noticed many people would make it to checkout only to abndon at that point. What else could I do to convert more customers?

    Man I love Blairs 3am.

Police don't need tasers..just carry that stuff with them!!

But back to your question... unfortunately whats probably happening is there seeing your site, liking the products then searching around and finding a nicer looking site.
I cannot remember where I used to buy all that stuff but they had a real quirky site.

Are you prices the cheapest around?

You should try redesigning your website.
Personally I wouldnt buy from your website as it doesnt inspires enough confidence.

Build a strong Social Network. Do blog comments, join niche forums, submit your website to directories, do a keyword analysis, write proper meta tags, write blog. In short optimize your website. All these factors & many others are important to get valuable traffic to your website, thus increasing your sales.

I agree with having your site redesigned. Take a bit of time and doa google search for hot sauce and look at some competitor websites that rank well. What makes their sites interesting? It's a visual society and I think your site just lacks some of that "wow" factor. Best of luck.

My first impression is being overwhelmed by an explosion of graphics. I'm not sure where to begin navigating. My first impulse is to leave your website and look for a different place to purchase hot sauce. If it were my website, I would start off by using a horizontal menu with no more than 5 pages to choose from. The home page would be a welcome page with an introduction of my business and the type of products that I sell. One of my page names would be products, where I would then, and only then, begin listing the products I'm selling. Also, I would get rid of the footer menu, and limit my vertical menu (where I would list the different types and brands of hot sauce) to a handful of pages so I'm not overwhelming users.

    Good luck!

I agree. The site is confusing.
To appeal to your clients you want to find out how they want to experience the buying process. Poll them and ask them if they'd be willing to share with you how they would want to experience your site.
