How much does your company spend on packaging materials for shipment each month?

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of starting up a packaging supplies company and consultation service for small businesses. Since I'm working on the financial projections, I thought I'd ask you guys a rather general question: how much does your company spend on packaging materials for shipment each month or if you had a business in the past, around how much did you spend each month? I know this will depend on various factors like whether your product was in season or not, but I'm just looking for a good average.

If you could, will you let me know the size of your company and which particular industry your business is in as well? Thanks for the help and I look forward to the responses!

If you are talking postage and materials about $300,000 per year

For books my usual labeling and packaging cost is about $0.17 per item

For my consumer good company labeling and packaging is about $0.59 per item

I do everything in volume so I can keep my costs fairly low. These number do not include hardware and software which I consider a sunk cost.
