    help me strategize ...

    Biz gurus,

I am not sure this is the right forum...

I have been trying to set an appointment for a prdt demo (<10mts) and discuss an ROI model with this person in a
big corporation. They signed an NDA with us; so have been sharing on and off lots of information with this person. For me, unfortunately, its a long distance relationship as this customer is 3hrs flight from my city.

My previous attempts to get an appointment was met with "no budget during this recession yr, pls try Q3".
But I know this is just an excuse. What can I do to get this person interested to invest just 30mts? I am damn confident that my prdt is what they have been looking for and btw only after seeing the initial pres, did they sign the NDA.

Please pls give me some tips here... I am not a pro sales
person, and thus have been learning.

PS: if any one knows a good sales guy willing to invest just lets say 3mths ('am sure long term would be even
    secure) pls PM me.

    Thanks in advance!

Interesting. In my experience, dealing with big companies on "sales calls" is extremely difficult. I got a deal to a point where I was absolutely sure it was going to go through and the company ended up pulling the plug the last minute. It's difficult for us small busienss here because the big company has all the power. Have you tried calling? Sometimes its the hardest thing to do but if you were able to speak with them over the phone, it's often way more direct than an e-mail.

Let me know how it goes.

Take a look at flights, and see when you can get some cheap tickets. Then, call the company and say "By coincidence, I'm going to be there on _____. Can I come by and introduce myself?"

Also, if one big corporation is interested, I'm sure you can get others interested. Expand that search!

I would agree with the suggestions and comments above as setting up a time to meet in person with decision makers are really tough. Have you tried setting a conference call with a web meeting/demo of some sorts? Feel free to see my posted articles on my site on the importance of a virtual environment.
