    Free sites

Okay, I need some opinions here... I want to make a bunch of informational sites that dont provide services or offer products, but simply offer free information, the revenue from my site being provided by advertising on my site... I want to put out of couple of these on free site servers to generate cash flow for my big idea, which will have real hosting... I have noticed many people post looking down on free servers though... can I get an opinion on my idea?

Free hosting has a tendancy to be unreliable. There are a bunch of hosting packages out there fro 10 bucks a month that will let you host multiple accounts(reseller package): theprimehost.com being one of them. They are much more reliable than free hosting and pretty cheap.

UNless you personally know someone who can give you free hosting that you know is reliable, youre better off paying the small sum for hosting

Thank you very much for your input... I never realized there were packages out there that offered more than one domain!

ye i think hostgator do it as well im not 100% sure.

If you do get a free host be aware that they fill your site with ads as well so you'd have to get a fre host which isn't ad supported and that could be tricky to find.

Free hosting these days is certainly reliable, but why would you want someone else's ads on your site? As your sites will only be providing information, I imagine that you will plan to make your money by placing ads on them...so why would you want folks to potentially be clicking ads that you are not even making anything from? This just does not make sense to me....

I would go with a paid host if I were you.

    A wonderful host is 1 and 1.com

    http://www.1and1.com

I pay $20 every 6 months (although, it is shared... so be forwarned)

But they have other packages, some alot cheaper than competitors, some slightly more expensive, check them out.

1and1 is pretty well known and I haven't heard anything good about them. I have yet to hear something terrible either tho.

Quality Hosting Companies for Cheap that have never let me down....

If you want to just provide information, visit www.awardspace.com They are totally free hosting.. no ads... they just make revenue off adsense running on the control panel.

You are limited to 20 megs of files and each file can only be about.....500kb...but I know ipower has huge hosting limits for 7.95 a month. You can host 6 domains with them too. Check that one out at http://www.bluehost.com/track/getmyorder/CODE9

    or

Another great hosting company is http://partners.ipower.com/z/51/CD1306/&dp=825
