I'm sure not many people have heard about this but Sony is removing what I consider a key feature of their PS3 (Install other OS) option from their system. When I bought the system I knew fair and well and it was advertised on the box that the PS3 was capable of doing this. Recently, the system was 'hacked' by George Hotz who is a fairly famous hardware hacker. From there, Sony has announced that they will be removing the feature fully from their system citing that they have the right to do so due to their Terms of Service. The issue is that they advertised this system as having this functionality and it was a portion of the reason why I bought the system in the first place. They have actually had several executives in the past year claim that they would never remove this functionality from the older consoles (they released a new Slim console that didn't come standard with it).

Is there something illegal going on here? I feel, as a consumer, that I am getting taken advantage of.
