    EIN or LLC first?

Does it matter which I file for first? It seems that the LLC articles of incorporation ask for an EIN and the EIN application asks for a business name.

    Thanks,
    Ian

When I first incorporated, I got my EIN first.

Register for a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) with the IRS (link provided below). You should get an EIN for your LLC even if you don't plan on hiring someone to work for you because you will need it when applying for a business bank account (unless you don't mind using your SSN!).

When doing a business formation for our clients, our office creates the business formation first (LLC) then applies for the EIN. Please check out our website www. informationlaw .com
