DMV giving me crap about dealers license

Well I went to the DMV yesterday and I talked to the desk lady I said "Hi Im here to apply for a dealers license" right away she turned into the b@%! from hell and starts asking me why I want one and what I plan to do with it so I told her,I want to start a business selling used vehicles and I need the license to get access to dealer only auctions, then she asked me wich business district is my building located in whats the adress and have I had an inspector check it out?, I thought to my self this is complete bull! shes telling me I have to have a building before I get a license!!?? Is this true or is this DMV full of people that have breathed in too much carbon monoxide,This DMV is located in Winter Park,FL.

I am sure that someone here could give you the advice you are looking for, but not when you react like that. Take a breath and calm down, have you tried approaching your local business centre? They are a great resource for information and would be able to help you out.

haha seems like your not interested any more :P
But if you want to give it another go, try by phone or email (because if your young, she may not think your serious)

Here in New Zealand, you can do it all over the net if you want to go to dealers actions. So see if you can find a website to do it on.

Im just extreamly stressed,I have always put alot of preassure on my self to do my best in what ever I plan and this is supposed to be my way to really start making the money and have the sucess I always wanted and to be the one in my family to make somthing of them self,every one that was supposed to be a supporter of ideas or help of any sort gave up and they dont look for any motovation when its right in front of them,they go through every day ignoring what they should not this is what I grew up with,and Im not dumping in the forum with my emotional crap, Im giving a reason for me putting so much preassure on my self, To basically sum up the matter, Im still recovering from an on the job accident that almost took my leg from the knee down and the lady only had PIP that hit me so I got nothing from her,my parents just got divorced,my dad let the house go and my little brothers and him had to move in with my grand parents,my brothers are 11 and 15 they are not in school and have to deal with what I did when I was there only they play xbox 24/7,I have to fix it I have to get my brothers on the right track and by starting a business I can get a house for them to stay in and I can take care of thier academics and maybe teach them the business and I owe it to my girl who has taken care of me through my 2 years of healing and physical rehab and to myself to break the line of failiure and selfishness

Business is extremely stressful, no matter what your situation is. It's always been that way, it will always be that way.

Statistically, by all means, I should be dead. But you can't allow the things in your life to hold you back.

And you can't allow the DMV rules to hold you back either. That's what I meant by my post "Rules are rules". If we're successful, we have to learn how to follow them and when to bend them.

If a building is required to get a dealership license, then that's what you must do and no amount of anger or frustration is going to change that.

What you have to do is find a creative way to get a building and follow their requirements.

Everyone thinks they have a bad life. Until they meet someone who's life is worse than your own. I have a web designer buddy who has cerebral palsy. He's basically paralyzed from the waist down. So, just imagine what his life is like. You would think something like that would depress a person. But instead, he's working hard at his own web design business. He's been featured in the paper several times. He's happily engaged.

Stop allowing your life dictate your value in business. The moment you start working on your business, all that life stuff should be left outside the door. It shouldn't interfere with your work.

Trust me, most people here know what pressure feels like and can very well relate. The difference is what you do when things don't go your way.......

That's the name of the game partner. We had to do the same thing. Do you have a friend or family member that has a commercial location that you can use as your storefront? You just need to have a sign out front and make it appear to be your location. Everyone has to do it, she's not just blowing smoke up your ass.

Ok after a discusing what I found out about the requirements of getting the license with my girl she was kind of frustrated about it too(I was pissed) but just because out of all the people I did ask (not here) about how to get it they all made it sound simple "Oh all you have to do is go to the dmv and apply for it, its about $300.00" and you can be a dealer,they totally bullshitted me obviously.
What Ive thought about is the limit of cars you can sell in FL, if you are not a dealer it is 3 total,any more and its a misdemeanor so I thought what I might do is sell 3 in my name and sell 3 in my girls name but I wont have access to the good auctions wich sucks and also the crap with insurence and plates,I might end up paying more than a dealer would for the same amount of cars and it would make no sense to do it, so are there any suggestions has anyone tried this approach? or can some one show me a place online that has good cars that you have used before?

When you asked if I had a friend or family member that has a commercial location that I could use as a front,are you saying that I would be able to get a dealers license without owning or renting a location? Im just trying to understand better because the person at the DMV said I had to have proof of location and have an inspector come by to check it.
