    Business website marketing Help!

    Hey guys,

As a web developer, I have gathered a web team to create a very unique gaming website that involves gamers challenging others on the website, betting money through challenges and winning cash. Extentions like (affiliated programs) and such will also be created, to stay in touch with players. Being a decent expert in the gaming industry, i have no doubt that these ideas have amazing potentials.

I have the team ready to execute the project, I have the raw materials, and i'm ready to spend $3000 on advertising alone.

But of course there is always this feeling of "what if..", especially since the money i will be using will be from fellow investors. Which is why i'm here asking for help. If anyone could please advice me on how to take proper steps into getting traffic and into keeping the traffic, and making this project successful. The ideas are there but without the proper steps into getting that permanent traffic, those ideas are worthless

EDIT: I apologize to forum Moderators if i posted this thread in the wrong section. Please move this thread if needed.

    Hello,

I have the similar/same idea. i.e. cash tournament of skill based games like chess and pool.
Though I lack a development team currently, but will surely launch one site soon.

Regarding your question. "WHAT IF.." no business comes without a risk. thats the risk you have to take.
Believe in yourself, figure out a strategy and work on it. Am sure you will get success.

    All the best, Thanks.

With Great Success Come Greater Risks. As said by above user, Without TAking Risks You can never fulfill your dreams.

A Free "Risk Free" way to try your idea out would be to "share it" from your site/or blog to social media sites (facebook, twitter)
Tell people about it, get some "likes" and shares, then just watch the traffic come.

    Cool idea by the way!

A good website will convey your message to potential customers as well as enhance your ability to provide effective customer service. Additionally, your website should serve as a portal of information for your target market. They should be able to visit your site and immediately find the information they seek.

I like the sound of this project, do you have room for a little one?

I would save the 3000 for advertising once the site is up and running. Until then you should make some social media pages, and post things like how the site development is going, and whats coming to get people amped about it. Just take like 30 seconds a day to follow 40-50 people who are already following an online gaming site or something along those lines because they are your target market. Keep in mind once you are following 2000 users, you need a 1:1 ratio of following/followers, but its a great source for getting an audience.

Try social networks, it's really helpful. A Google ad campaign will help too.

    Most importantly, trust your instincts.
