Business already started, but not many bites.

I have started my business already. It is easy to use and it is a good service. It has been online for almost 2 years now, but it just isn't making any money, and I'm not gaining new users. I only need to get 10 customers a year to maintain the site. It doesn't seem like much, but after 2 years I guess it is a lofty goal. I guess my question is how can I get more traffic to the site. I have run google adwords campaigns before and it drives traffic, but doesn't generate users. I also have links on the net on sites that are somewhat associated. Any ideas?

If the site that you are talking about is in your signature, couple things you might want to think about. Direct marketing to say "Tornado Valley" residents, people in Florida, and along the Atlantic Ocean coast, California (earthquakes & wildfires). Research and see which areas were hit over the last 5 years, and market towards them.

When I originally setup my adwords campaign, I did this. I guess I need to expand to more advertising than just adwords huh?

Depending on your budget, emails, faxes, post cards, ads in newspapers and so on.

    Hi,

Maybe you would like to work on your sales page. It is not converting your traffic.

Yeah that is true, it has been out there for a while, maybe there needs to be a change. I will have to sit down and re-write the text. Or maybe have a friend write it for me. As far as advertising goes, what area of the country should be targeted for the coming fall/winter season? I live in NY and the winters can be pretty nasty here, any other areas of the country that my site could apply to?

Right now CA has A TON of wildfires that have done over 1 billion dollars in damage. You could market there and protect the info of the familys who's homes might be destroyed!

Have you tried a Funded Sponsoring Franchise? A system like this will bring prospects to your business. I now have people asking me what my business is and I get to educate them on my opportunity. PM me or click on the link in my Sig file for more information.
    Good luck.

what you need to start doing is SEO optimization. You should start paying big sites, in the same niche, that link to your site, its called PR and ranges from 1-10 based on the activity of the site. There are alot of ways to increase traffic to your site, get a google analytics account to analyze your traffic. if you have a good product the traffic will come.

    MMarceau,

I think what hurts your business the most is your landing page. The idea is great however, your site does not exude a professional site. Remember that you are asking people to STORE sensitive information into your servers.

Some testimonials would also probably help. This would give you credibility out there. You have to find some type of an endorsement also from a major insurance company that you are a good alternative.

With the growth of identity theft, there's a lot of convincing out there to do. Start with how you would appease the minds of the doubting thomases.

    I hope this helps some.

    HI:

I went to your .com, and was not immediately sure what you had to offer. I'd make more of a sale on the main page, have people dig in at least one page before they see pricing.

Also, have you looked into offline marketing?

One great thing is that you can sell nation wide, therefore, you can pull data for people who have a 650 credit score and above, who are home owners, and who have a annual income level you set.

I have this type of data available, and can provide many other selects to hone into your target market.

    Regards,

I second Lance on comment on the main page.

Text usually does not explain better than graphics and pricing at first glance shoos people away.

I think you need to add a way to your homepage to grab the e-mail addresses of people that have found you. They had a reason to go to your site. Get a "Sign up here for free monthly free information on little things you can do in case of a disaster" then monthly send out items like "Having a family plan for a fire in the house", "What to do to avoid being struck by lightning", etc.

Interesting hook to send a news letter out!

You could use content from the governments COOP (Continuity Of Operation's Planning). This could help you to put together this news letter and possibly some site content in front of your price sheet!
