Business address as registered agent address

I have an LLC in California that has been running for several years now. When I set it up, I put myself as the Agent for Service of Process and used my home address as the agent address. Now I'm feeling a little uncomfortable about having my home address so prominently displayed and would like to change it.

I know it is possible to hire companies to act as agents, but I'm already paying for an office so is it possible to put my business address as the agent address? I searched around for the answer but couldn't find one anywhere.

    Thanks.

    ya

Yes, you can register your office as a registered agent. A registered agent is just the location where court papers will be sent. So if someone is suing you they send you the court papers about the case and the charges. You would normally have a business or a firm act like a agent usally a legal office. This will be where your lawyer that handles your legal stuff for your business would contact you. There are businesses that are agents but aren't a legal form but would let you know when you got anything legal. This goes the same when your suing someone else you file the charges with the proper court and they forward them to the persons business agent. The agent is nothing but a rep for your company. Small businesses are usually your house or a small office.

I would suggest to use your office since it's not safe to let everyone know where you live. This is dangerous if someone wants to get revenge at you or something they got your home address by looking up your business registration papers online.

Before doing this do some research and take my comment and advice as a grain of salt.
