Anyone have experience with starting a clothing company?

I want to start a clothing company that just starts out with t-shirts, polos and dress shirts. The thing is, I want to make sure they are quality and made exactly like I design them. I'm not sure how to do this. I was thinking of going to Los Angeles to the Garment District and talking to shop owners to see if they would have some advice, or willing to get my clothes made.

    Any suggesstions?

I suggest staying in American first. Sourcing your product from oversees is going to be time consuming and expensive. Stick with domestic manufacturer or distributor until you start to gain a core customer base. Then start researching international suppliers.
