I have an idea for starting an internet radio station.
I have resources for acquiring artists, marketing and promotion to drive traffic to the site, and experience in streaming media audio.
I would like to monetize (surprise!) the venture by selling ads. I plan on compiling demographic data on the visitors to the site and developing a compelling, comprehensive ad sales campaign. The ads will be in the form of ad banners, but mostly radio spots. I already have access to an experienced voice over studio to do the radio spots for clients that may not already have existing spots that they use.
I plan on using a comprehensive affiliate network in addition to placing my own radio spots on the site for to advertise for radio spots
How do I acquire ad sales for this type of venture? Anyone currently in the internet radio industry?
Oh, by the way, this is the local, "up-and-coming" artist market, so no it's not a highly saturated market (compared to maor artists).
