    Question Advertise to College STudents

    I am 10 and I want to advertise to college students or other people the same age. College newspapers seem like a good idea but i want to find some free classifieds or something else that is little money so i can find out what works first before I spend more money on bigger ads. Some one told me that night time radio might be a good place to advertise too and that is good because I want to reach people who are up late. Who has some ideas for me?

    It can depend on what it is you are advertising, so what do you want to advertise?

    My business is a wake up service. people tell me what time they need to get up in the morning and I call them. I can only work before my bus comes but my dad can make calls a little after that if i ask him to. now i only have family customers but i want more and my mom can help me take pay pal money.

    Why should someone use your service? People can just wake up to an alarm clock?

    Just try to learn as much about business as possible. Its great that you're starting at this age.

    That is awesome you are that young starting, I wish I got a start at that age. How much do you charge for your service? Maybe you could add something else like a reminder of things they need to do that day or something, to make it not just like an alarm clock.

    Hey little dude it is awesome that you are creating business ideas at such a young age. You have to think of what value your product brings over others. I know I can have my alarm clock wake me up then hit a calnedar button on my lap top to see what I have to do for the day. As a college student the idea of a 10 year old clling me after a night of drinking seems a tad strange, and god knows what kids would say to you. Anyways, make the wake up viral, make it customizable. Maybe business people on vacation would like to wake up to the voice of their loved ones, just like your family does. Although you might not be able to do this, celebrity wake up calls are becoming popular. Think it through search competition and aternatives and find what they lack.

    on further thought, what if you had a quote for the day, something positive, that you could share with everyone in the morning? something motivational or clever, even a joke. I think a lot of people would like that

    i just typed some awesome ideas for you and then this dang forum booted me to the sign in page... blows...

    well, here it is... short form...

    College students nowadays are more dependant on their parents or on others to do the work for them. So why not market to the parents of the students instead. Think "helicopter parents" parents that don't want their kids to grow up or leave home without them. It should look something like this:

    College students don't use the tools and services they pay for at college. Why would they use your services that charge to avoid them from doing the one thing they enjoy and take advantage of when they get the time, sleeping?

    You may want to target parents in this case. A service that parents will want to use or can use to ensure their student is on time or making classes.

    Offer the parents something... a bang for their buck... maybe the first call free... or the first week or first month free...

    So the parents will pay for it. Build loyalty and customer depedancy if the service is professional, attractive and quality. The parents may even use it and turn their kids on to it inwhich now you have a viral marketing effect as they will turn their friends on to it.

    Parents = Students (college/ high school) = $$$

    you may also want to look in to this... talk to local businesses to sponsor wake up calls. It would look something like this: "This wake up call comes courtesy of ___________."

    Imagine talking to someone while they are asleep, it's the only time they are guaranteed to listen. So when people are waking in the morning they are still somewhat asleep just not in the deep state, so imagine this, "This wake up call comes courtesy of Starbucks." -- to a coffee drinker they'll think Starbucks in the morning and all day until they get the fix.

    i'm full of ideas for people... this one is free... lol... anyone else just feel free to pick my brain and contact me...
