    Two founders what titles?

    Hi,

I and an associate are currently in the process of developing a business plan for a new company we are setting up.

My question is very simple, what titles should we give ourselves to maintain equal 50/50. He would like to be CEO but what options in relations to titles does it leave me?
The reason I am asking is we are preparing to get funding and I would like to know what the perception of this will be. I know it is extremely early days at the moment but I believe it is very important as the long term implications could be undesirable.

Has anybody any experience of this.

    Thanks
    joe

    Why don't you both be a Co-founder?

I recently designed a site for a partnership and this is what they agreed upon in order to maintain the equality.

The CEO calls the shots and deligates downward. Under CEO is usually the COO or President who handles day to day decisions and processes. Be careful here unless you have a good working relationship and are fine with your friend making decisions about the business. My thoughts have always been there should be at least one person with a majority of ownership. Otherwise when you have conflicts, things can come to a standstill and often two strong personalities will ultimately accomplish nothing.
