People use trademarks to stop people stealing and profiting from their established
identity. As you just started your business, there is a small chance that people will do that, unless you have a unique genius slogan and logo.

im gonna go ahead and say NO.
technically, once you publish something in a public medium, you own the rights to that. Therefore, if you're the first to use whatever phrase or name and you can prove that, then you own the rights anyway.
you can't put the little TM or SM next to your phrase unless you have an official trademark, but you will own the rights to any content that you use, and that you can prove that you were the first to use.
so start that biz, get your cake up, and then you can fill out the paperwork.
