Starting An Entetainment Company

I am interested in staring an entertainment company and have some questions. I will like to throw concerts within my ent. company and was wondering if any1 had any info on how i would go about booking an artist...i know that on some of the artist' websites they have booking info but how else would i go about booking an artist?

I asked someone who is kind of involved in doing parties, etc. and they told me that i would just need a contract and the money to book the artist but i want a second opinion

and i need help on forming up a contract to book an artist..etc.

and what other documents would I need?

not at the moment..i am interested in throwing concerts/parties and managing artist within my ent. company...but i c dat no1 really has any info up here pertaining to the music biz

you should be the one giving us info on the industry. Not to be mean or anything but it bugs me when people want to go into something with no previous knowledge/experience with it.

i think everyone who starts any business venture doesnt ever really have previous knowledge on the subject therefore they research and learn about it in order to be successful..thats wat i was trin to do here...i know a lil bout the biz bu tno1 asked me a ? i asked a ? becuz this site is called "youngentrepreneur.com" so figured that their maybe some1 to give advice

Before you try to make money in the industry, you need to go make the local connections in your area.

lol those connections will all come in due time...i know some local artist...i plan on booking a celeb artist...i might have to contact a local club owner if i decide to have my event at a club...groupies..whereever theres a party/celeb/etc. they will come!

you sound very young, and not willing to actually hear people out. You dont ask for these "connections" you earn them. go out and do some filed work. Get to know your market. I currently do alot of shirts for this one promoter here in town and he puts on pretty big shows, He got his start by working at one of the local night clubs and metting these people,, maybe you should try the same,
