Question Setting up a DBA (doing business as) help

It has come to my attention that I may need to set up a DBA. Whats the best route to take? Call my Attorney and let him settle it, or are there cheaper, faster alternatives?

Is there a seperate tax involved with DBA's ?..what other fees?

    Thanks.

DBA are just assumed business names and there are no extra taxes or anything. It's just a nickname you operate under the real company name. However laws differ in each state and country so you'll have to do research. For example, filing a DBA in Oregon is as simple as a $50 fee for the filing. However in CA, you not only have to file the DBA but get a business certificate and pay a fee.

You should verify and if you don't know how, the safest route is always to seek an attorney's help.
