    Questions about retaining an attorney.

    Hello

Does it matter if you have a local attorney or does it make a difference?

I need a good attorney that focuses on software piracy + the general business needs.

I'm planning to start up in a small town and I haven't been able to find anyone locally that knows the in's and out's of the software world.

Intellectual property law and internet law are areas of law that are not well understood by many attorneys. For simple issues, you can pay a small-town, general-practice attorney to look up the law and handle it, but if you're serious or have a big deal, find an attorney that specializes, even if they don't live in your immediate vicinity.
