Question about naming a new LLC

I have been doing websites for years as a DBA and have an established name (Example Online). I would like to create a new LLC to grow my business in new areas (i.e. IT, Networking, and Security).

I would like to name my LLC - Example Technologies LLC, to show that the company does more than just websites, but what about the name that I have been using for years? I don't want to lose it, but I also don't want to go through the hassle of having a complex corporate structure...

Thoughts?

Thanks,
David

No problem; just register whichever LLC name you would like, and then register DBA names with your state's department of licensing for the company names you are still using.

There may also be trademark issues you will want to look into (like federal trademark prosecution (registration)) but that goes beyond your question.

If you plan on growing and being well known, look into these now. Trust me, I know from experience.

Later it could cost you years in court and $500k to fight.
