    PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL for PATENT OWNERSHIP

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am an industrial design graduate that has spent the past 1.5 years working on a prototype design for an assitive-living product.

Right now I am continuing to develop prototypes to refine and test the product before patenting (provisional to begin with). Includes focus groups, and a lot of prototyping and modifications.

I have an interested partner (a specialized designer in this field) that wishes to work with me for a share in the idea/potential business/marketable product in exchange for her services to help me make better prototypes of the product.

I am therefore, in need of someone that can draft up a simple business proposal outlining each partner’s share of ownership.

Anyways, I am fresh out of school and not too much funds; looking into young entrepreneurial grants to help me out.

Do you think it is advisable to attain a patent lawyer to draft he partnership. Can this be done by my self?

Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you all in advance

You don't need a patent lawyer to draft a partnership agreement. Patent attorneys are usually one of the most expensive hourly rates of any attorneys (at least the good ones are). You need to form some sort of entity, like an LLC, for your business and form a operating agreement (partnership agreement), to show membership interest. PM me if you need help.
