    Legal Status for Homepreneurs

    Hello,

    I would like to know what kind of status i should put myself under, do to consultant job ?

    A company wants to use my services and give me checks, but i don't know if i should just check them under my name or should i create a company,or .... ?

    I am home based

    It is always good to register a business to keep yourself protected in some way shape or form. Since you're consulting, most likely you will be claiming taxes on a 1099. You're going to want to register an LLC and an EIN for business purposes. Look into those.

    The higher your debt to income ratio is the less likely you are to qualify for a home. Based on your current financial status, if you were a banker, would you consider yourself a good credit risk? If not, why not?
