    Is this considered Libel?

An ex-business partner of mine who printed shirts for me recently tried screwing my over. I created a wordpress blog and purchased a domain called www.(hiscompanyname)sucks.com and basically blogged about his unethical practices and my experiences with him. This will be indexed on google above his website so anytime someone types in his company name they will see my link.

Is this considered libel or slander? It is all true information that I have blogged about.

You might want to contact your lawyer about that one. Even if the information is true, he can probably file a lawsuit against you if you don't have any solid evidence.

I did a little bit of defamation (libel, slander) law at school. Post the website, and I might tell you if it is or not. (if it's obviously not true)

The "non-legal advice" answer is - it depends on what you write and how it is presented. However, I would be very careful. You might be okay "legally" but that does not mean he can't sue you. True or not, I would make sure you are willing to battle in the legal system before you create a blog solely dedicated to trashing another individual publicly.

It's in Minnesota. I spoke to lawyer who said that as long as what your writing isn't false your free to do what you want. They have to be able to prove that what your saying is false in order to get you for defamation.

I guess I still don't understand how he could still sue me? He would be suing me for libel if that was the case, but if it is not libel then how could he sue? Even in a civil suit he would not really have a case.
