Hello,

I have a question regarding "image rights", more specifcally what is the law regarding using, for example a celebrity's face on a product.

I'm just talking about selling mugs/cups with a face/name.

I'm in the UK is there are any differences in the laws.

You should really hire an attorney for your legal questions.

Though not legal advice, here are some issues I see you encountering:

- Copyrights of the photographs/pictures you intend to use,
- Trademarks of the images of the celebrity's face,
- Misrepresentation of your product as being endorsed by the celebrity,
- Etc.

I would not pursue this idea unless I was able to get appropriate copyright and trademark licenses and written permission from the celebrity, but that is just my opinion.
