    I need help!

    I am thinking of and idea i dont really want to say what it is so i will give you an example.

    Say i owned a t shirt printing company and i wanted to put a picture of shrek on my t shirt and sell them on the web. Will i need deeds from the owners of shrek to do this?

    You will need a licensing agreement from Dreamworks, good luck.

    There goes that idea.
    Bottom line would be if you want to use anything that is copyrighted or trademarked you would need to get permission from the main company.

    A lot of people get into trouble with these types of things. There are a lot of embroidery type machines that are sold with preprogrammed copyrighted/trademarked designs in them. It’s licensed for personal use, but not distribution.

    Not so fast. If you're using Shrek, but are making fun of the character by altering it into a parody, you don't actually need a license for such use.
