Cross country partnership laws

Hey,

I know this really isnt the place to ask for legitimate legal advice but I have a question. I'm from Montreal, Canada and I met someone from Florida. If we wanted to start a bistro in Florida will I be able to own and operate it with him legally?

Does anyone know any sites that may help me with this matter. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
D.G

I dont see a problem with owning a place in another country, but I would not recommend doing that, if you want to run a businesses you HAVE to be present there, if you would be the type of the owner that stops by there once a month or something like that, things like theft would occur and your business would go down the drain. How well do you even know that person?

Not well, the thing I would like to know is:

1- As a canadian citizen will I be able to own and operate a business in the USA without having an american visa?

2- As a canadian citizen will I be able to do my taxes and live their?

Now like I said early I know this isn't really the place to be asking for legal advice I just really want to make this work. Can anyone direct me to a site that may help me with these sort of laws, or can someone with past experience help me out.

Thank you,
D.G
