I thought of a product and upon research noticed that it has aleady been created but not yet soldin my country (austrialia) ans seems to be done on a small scale. how would copyright affect producing and selling a similar poduct and how would i find this out.

in any case, don't worry about it
just sell your product and if someone puts up a cease and desist, then you'll deal with it
