change of agent with the state of New York

    Hi

I filed LLC through a online site and now I don't need that services anymore from that agent. I need to file Certificate of Change of Address of Registered Agent pursuant to Section 805-A(b) of the Business Corporation Law. Does anyone know where i can get the form ?

    Thanks

Yeah you will just need to contact your state to get the form, it is an easy process I have done it before.

You would want to fill both out since you're changing your registered agent. Otherwise, you would just have to fill out "designates as its registered agent..." Make sure you're using an address where you can receive mail even when you move (or remember to fill out a change of address form with your state if you move) because when it's time to
re-register, they will be sending you mail at the address you enter.

If you live in NY and designate yourself, then that is all well and good. However, if you move to another state, you will need to change your registered agent again to an address that can accept mail on your behalf in NY. For example, I am in Boston but run a company in VT. My registered agent is a good friend who let's me know when things come and fwds me the important mail and trashes the crap, haha.
