Being Sued?

Is the fear of a lawsuit a reason for NOT starting a business? I am located in the United States so frivilous lawsuits are a dime a dozen. I have several business ideas, but I do not go through with them for fear of lawsuits. WHat should I do about this? Should I just go for it and see what happens or should this be a concern or a reason to NOT start a business?

Just because you start a business doesn't mean you're going to be sued. I don't know what you're thinking of starting.....but make sure you incorporate or form an LLC so you not liable for company's actions.

I am not thinking of starting anything that a normal grandmother would not frequent. Nothing questionable or immoral, just a regular old business. I just hear so often that people get sued over dumb little things and I really do not want to have to go through it.

Just start your business already. I know a good group of business owners personally, and none of them have been sued. Only companies I hear getting sued are the big boys.

you are right, if I make enough on the deals then what should I care if I get sued? I am a bigtime worrier and too cheap to spend on an attorney. I hope to have my business up and going soon.
