Age to obtain a Tax ID?

Im 17 and would like to start a business but need to obtain a tax id, am I eligible?

If not is there a way I could my parents could co-sign?

im pretty sure you can. i got one when i was 16 for Maryland... just goto your county clerk. should be on the internet somewhere... im sure you can get one on the net nowadays... maybe
