    Word of Mouth

Word of Mouth is still the best marketing medium. When your customers have faith in your product, the will do the marketing for you. Actual experiences are more attractive and persuasive to the prospective customers because it means your product or service is effective.

I agree. I also believe that good quality, engaging content will market your site so much better than a constant stream of spammy sales messages. Building up a brand personality and reputation makes people far more likely to recommend you.

I'm still a twitter nab but I have learned a trick or two. I mainly use it for marketing, with a spontaneous tweet now and then.
Firstly and most important, it is much better to "share" information with people rather than try to "sell" it to them. Still excessive sharing may look/feel like selling.
Also itīs a must not to spam other peoples inbox, I even avoid welcome messages.
Lastly but not least, the free tool that allows me to follow/unfollow waaayyyyy faster dossy.org/twitter/karma/ .. tīis my new baby

Agreed. This is why I love social media marketing so much. It's the tremendous power of viral marketing that boosts brand recognition and builds awareness. Not to mention the size of the audience.

I would agree that "Word of Mouth" marketing is still the most reliable method of marketing. Generally if you have Grade-A customer service, word-of-mouth marketing is your strongest form of marketing since, as you mentioned, actual experiences and feedback from people whom they know and trust will be a bigger influencing factor than a TV Advertisement or Flier.

In order for Word of Mouth to succeed and continue, you must provide continuous quality products and services to your existing customers. Let them stay happy and happier with extra service now and then. Take care of them.

Word of mouth can be good and bad and i will expand on this one if you provide a quality product or service people will tell other people about it this is the good side of it but if you are below par with your service or product the word of mouth grapevine will travel quicker and have a adverse effect.

Yes, I agree that it can also be negative. But with so much competition, the product and service that you offer must always be of good quality. There must be a grading system and it must always pass this test. If you allow your product to go below, it will lose its credibility in the market. While targeting for new customers, the existing ones must be taken cared of because they are the ones who will spread the news about your company.

Yes. They are indeed connected. You will also need to use other marketing strategy to jump start word of mouth.

Couldn't agree more. Extraordinary experiences that result in customers raving to friends about you will always be more effective than any form of traditional advertising.

Agreed that Social Media the word of moth format could be a little tricky. One needs to be careful and understand and listen to the target audience all the time

Word of Mouth is so effective in spreading the good news about you. In the other way around, it can also destroy you once they found some irregularities in your business.

WOM is great, I definately personally would feel more comfortable buying something if I had postive feedback about it from friends or family, I think that it is enough to base a purchase decision on if deciding between 2 similar products for e.g. Definately a very powerful marketing tool although can go wrong aswel, if negative comments spread, this must be considered at all times in orderto try and avoid this
