I usually ask friends and family for opinions regarding products that they have used. I rely most on their experiences.

WOM is the best form of marketing because people trust other people who receive no personal benefit from talking about the product or service however, it's the most difficult form of marketing to implement , it just happens. I think the best way to do this is to get influential people to talk about your products/services.

So its about companies and how their products/services are priced in relation to quality. But sometimes people can also be a source of insufficient details. And it seems to be paying when influential people recommend a product or service.

Word of mouth is the most effective form of advertising. In any sales position I've ever had the referrals were always the best leads. But what if you were a new start up and didn't have the luxury of word of mouth. An effective and efficient way to obtain leads is through social networks. Its free and you are able to get targeted prospects.

Customer oriented services will always win the favor of people; and they will definitely recommend your service to others. So for word of mouth to be successful, we have to be service oriented.

Yes, this is true. Customers will remember you and your products more if your service during and after the sale is outstanding. When they are very satisfied with your products and services, they will come back for more. Not only that, they will bring their family and friends the next time around. That's when WOM begins.

I also agree with FLYPRINT. When you are just starting, better get influential people to talk about your products. People trusts them. They will influence people to try your products.

You need to remind people about your business to jump start word of mouth marketing. Just reminding them doesn't always work.
People aren't going to randomly call their family and friends to talk about your business deals or anything.
People love to talk about themselves, they love to tell stories to make them feel admired, accepted, and such.
So you gotta give them a cool story to tell to their family and friends involving your business.
