    Where To Start?

I'm starting a computer repair \ tech support business, I've done a business plan, I've got my equipment set up and I've been handing out business cards to friends and family.

Problem is, I haven't gotten a call yet.

I've looked into facebook \ twitter but since its a local venture, my only option would be to add everyone in the area. I don't like getting these myself, and believe others feel the same way.

People in this area have absolutely destroyed the price points on craigslist.

I've looked into angieslist, but short of lying I can't think of a good way to get my name on there.

My budget is small, but what are some low cost ways to advertise?

I think you need to consider not just where to advertize but how to advertize. What is your USP? Are your prices competetive? Do you have any special offers?

If you have a site then use articles to build up traffic. Write hints and tips about maintaining computers, ideas on keeping up to date with virus software, anything relevant that your customers are likely to search for.

    Best of luck.
