    Question What are the challenges?

What are the challenges that marketing execs and professionals are facing now - is it stiff competetion, inabilty to reach the target audience, being overwhelmed with complexity when it comes to planning or politics and quarreling?

Probably complexity is the biggest challenge. Media is so fragmented that managing it all is an issue. Most marketing execs focus on their niche media, so you'll find that agencies will offer niche services or many execs work the different areas within the agency - adds to the cost because each domain has its own rules.

I think the internet is the biggest challenge. It is making the barrier of entry into the marketing field extremely easy. The internet is allowing more professionals to branch off and create their own boutique firms to consult businesses. And in the process over saturating the market so that even the best marketing firms are sometimes drowned out by the masses.

Hi Goldie: I do agree with you that media right now is very complex and the task of managing it is just hectic! But one of the tips I've got early on in my career was to develop and maintain a strong brand. That would help you gain more traction when marketing.
